I thought some of the best center pieces I have seen were bowls (or you could use containers) filled with water and rose petals. You could use any type of flower petals.

I’m placing gerbera daisy blossoms in a water garden on a mirror with three votives and petals on the mirror. Mirror $1.00 rented votives and candles @ $$$ store about $1.05 per table. Blooms from Trader Joes. $3.99 plus tax for 10 blooms. T. Joe’s can’t guarantee the colors but said since they sell so many they’d let me pick through and get the ones I wanted but they come in reds and pinks usually. A case of 12 bunches is about 50 dollars. farmer’s Markets are also a great resource for fresh, inexpensive, in season local flowers. Paired with dollar store vases or other interesting containers.

Here’s a great website to help:

I’d also recommend going to the wedding channel on ivillage.com They have a message board for DIY.

Candles with Norwegian love knots glued on, or candles in vases with colored glass marbles in the bottom, rose petals scattered around them.
