I dont htink you’ll need a fire retardent as long as the flame from the candle doesnt go over the top of the glass. -So use small candles.
I would check with your reception hall to make sure they’re okay with lit candles as places dont go for that!
I haven’t had any experience, but as practical advice I think it would be wise to spray fire retardant on all your branches. You can buy the spray kind that’s used on Christmas trees, but be sure that it’s non-toxic and odorless.
As long as the branches are strong enough and the “glasses” are not only heat proof but large enough to keep the flame away from the branches.
I think it would lovely. (I wish I’d thought of it when I recently remarried)
I would never use open flame for any reason. You can buy make believe candles that still light up with batteries. I would worry about fire in this kind of a setting.
You should get those everlasting votives, they look real but are actually battery operated and if you put them in a votive holder no one will know, I think it’s safer.
