What are some typical bridal shower game prizes?

I 'm planning a bridal shower for my sister and I' m kind of stumped on what I give out prizes for games. I need about 12 gifts, and it 'shower pairs of SA, as something that girls and individuals wanted. You thought in UCES few cookbooks perhaps, or a little kitchen area? He can 't came because the shower is going to be in a church and ninguĂ? No alcohol allowed. And the girlfriend doesn 't want to give away gift cards (not sure why!) So that' s not an option either. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. :)

candles are always a nice unisex present…some scented ones with some holders would be good?
couple’s massage to a nearby spa always work!
Game Idea: Make wedding clothes out of toilet paper and have the bride decide who made the best one. Keep the prixes small. It is a party or the bride and groom. even a trinket to remember the event would be nice. Weddings are about memories and milestones.
In my experience things like photo albums, picture frames, and other decorative domestic stuff. However, typical bridal showers are sooooo boring. Why not get gifts that reflect on the bride and groom’s interests? If they like sports you could give out exercise videos or if they like music you could give out some of their favorites - something like that?
I think cookbooks and kitchen things are good ideas, as well as candles are good unisex items.
You might think about doing gift baskets as prizes. You could have one with coffee/tea, candy, candles, kitchen supplies, guy/girl bath/shower supplies, maybe something for movies like tickets with candy. Really, depending on what you want to spend you could have endless possibilities.
I attended a shower where they had baskets as gifts. We didn’t play any games, the guests just put their name in for the basket they liked.
Hope this helps!
I think it’s definitely a great idea to get something that both people will enjoy… Gift cards would be a great (and easy) solution, but I feel that maybe the bride thought this would be too impersonal…??? It’s too bad about the alcohol - wine is a wonderful gift!!! You may want to check out the Sharper Image, Williams-Sonoma, or the Discovery Science Store. These places have really great gift ideas that would work well for couples - and they don’t have to be expensive.
Another thought… Make all the gifts romantic ones. It’s a couples shower, and it’s purpose is to celebrate the love of a friend/family member…why not give away things that “enhance” romance: snuggle blanket, candles, wine glasses, romantic comedy dvd, massage oils, guys/girls board games (”Scene It? Squabble”, “Battle of the Sexes”, etc.)…and you can even include a cute, handmade (or bought) card with a romatic poem or a little tidbit about the couple getting married to make it more personal…
Hope you have a great shower!
I think you have a great idea with kitchen type gifts. Cookbooks, kitchen utensils, dish towels, hot pads, oven mits, and even muffin pans, cookie sheets or cooling racks are good, too. Gifts could also include some type of bottle opener like a cork screw, a pair of margarita glasses, maybe some even some spices. Some things you just can’t get enough of. As far as giving wine as a gift, it’s not going to be opened at the church, I understand not drinking it there, but I would think an unopened bottle should be ok. Sounds like a fun shower. Best wishes.
Do not click on that free smaple of Head and SHouldres link, you have to fill out all kinds of stuff and agree to “offers”.
Anyway, keep the prizes low in costs. Alot of people mentioned candles, but I think everyone has enough candles in the house. Cookbooks, kitchen towels, picture frames, stuff from Bath and Body Works like soap or lotion is also good. Maybe food items like chocolate, or coffee. I’ve never seen gift cards handed out as prizes, so I agree with the bride on that.
We gave out scratch off Lottery tickets….good unisex prize
Massage creams, lotions, ect. Gourmet cookies/chocolate gift set. Martini set (not incluiding the liquor) Margarita glasses, salt non alacohlic margarita mix. How about tickets to an event, play, museum, or something of the sort. Hope this helps.
Well, most shower stuff is spa related (like nailpolish or lotions), but since it’s a couples shower, that makes it far more difficult!
Maybe you could do games–like travel board games (travel Yahtzee, travel Uno, etc)–or cards or something that people could use and have fun with.
You could give out disposable cameras–most people like those!
You could also do little snack bags with the favorite snacks of the couple (like goldfish crackers, a bottle of water and a bag of M&Ms)–who doesn’t love food?
You could do DVDs also of the bride & groom’s favorite movies. The only concern with that is that maybe people will already have the DVDs, so if you do that, you should include gift receipts w/the DVDs so that they can return them to Best Buy or Circuit City or wherever you get them and exchange them for another DVD or something else they need or want.
I also like TP’s lottery ticket idea! (I posted my answer then read above and saw hers–cute idea!)
The cookbook idea is cute, but I don’t know about the kitchen stuff. I think it’s hard to buy something for someone else’s kitchen without knowing what that person needs or likes.
Hope that helped!
you could also do something like a his and her bath set with the robes and bath oils, candles are good, photo albums with a pic of bride and groom together to start it off, or just make different gift baskets, one with bath stuff one with kitchen stuff for a dinner for two, one with like a bedding set etc.
