I suggest finger foods if it is in the afternoon (dips, meatballs, finger sandwiches). I would plan a meeting to get together with her bridesmaids so that ya’ll can decide who will make what.

I think shrimp puffs would be good and have like a little salad bar with different kinds of lettuce and dressing and stuff. Then you can like have teacakes or a simple cake cut in small pieces.

Went to a very informal Bridal Shower and there were several Fondue pots set up with some of the best dips I have ever eaten.

If you want to do something more elegant try something along these lines

    Elegant Brunch
A multi-course brunch feels both decadent and civilized — fork-and-knife dishes with the perfect mix of sweet and savory to keep your spirits up through midday. Mimosas (made with freshly squeezed orange juice) or bellinis (if peaches are in season) would be a classic pairing here.

    Pear Soup
Cheese Strata with Ham and Tomatoes
Mini-Orange Crumble Top Muffins with Orange Butter
Mixed Greens Salad with Brown Butter Vinaigrette
    Raspberry Almond Tart
    Chocolate Truffles

but my personal choice for someone who is not sure …try the dessert party route making or buying items like…

For a mid-afternoon shower, all-dessert is a good way to go. A selection of sorbets surrounding an impressive yet simple flower and ice centerpiece keeps it light and airy; flourless cake takes care of the chocolate urge. Dessert wines or Port are a great match, or try a punch as a counterpoint.

    Flower and Ice Centerpiece
    Key Lime Sorbet
    Mini Flourless Chocolate Cakes
    Lotta Chocolate Sorbet
    Lemon Coconut Roulade
    Fresh Strawberry Sorbet
    Chocolate Covered Strawberries

or skip it all and go with one of these on the kraft site..
